Transparent Wallpapers

This is something that I think is pretty damn cool.

A colleague of mine has figured out how to make certain graphics transparent.
So that when you upload them to your phone, they seem to be just sitting on your desktop…

Make sense?

No?

Ok – Well allow me to share some screens from my N95…
First you need a blank canvas

—————————————>

Et voila!

Then you need a picture, your favourite will do.

Once you’ve got that, send it in an email to your friendly neighbourhood Graphics Designer…

Wait five minutes…

He then sends you back the graphic that you then save to your phone’s memory card…
Scroll to said graphic ‘use as wallpaper’ – go to your mainscreen…

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand… Ta Da!

Job done!

Not only can he do it with photos that you have –
But he can do it with any drawings that you may do too!
Take this picture of a ‘BattleFish’ for instance that a friend of mine drew recently…

See how the aforementioned expert takes said pic and not only makes it a perfect wallpaper for my N95 but also adds a funky little reflection too…

Cool huh? Now this can be done with most pics – my current favourite?
My very own South Park Whatleydude!

The only problem is – I can’t live without my active standby…

…which kinda ruins it a bit!

Ah well…

Anyone want to know this is done?
Anyone think they know how it’s done?
Answers on the back of a postcard…
I’ll be waiting!

Kew Gardens

Managed to swing by Kew Gardens at the weekend… and very beautiful it was too.

A bit hot for my liking and I wasn’t there long but a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon definitely…

All pictures taken and uploaded c/o my N95.
(sod being the landscape gardener there!) 🙂

And for all those Apple fans out there – more iPhone loveliness coming soon!

PROMISE!

iPhone, uPhone… wePhone!

OK, at last I’ve got my hands on an iPhone… I’ve only had a quick play but so far… It’s.. er.. ok!

Nothing uber-amazing.. It’s fun to play with and stuff.
The features are cool etc.. But practically? We’ll see..

As I said – I’ve only had a quick play so I may yet be turned from my N95 (yeah, right)…

Check out the very messy/scrappy video of me having a look at this very blog, care of the iPhone’s Safari browser…

Glasto – Aerial Shot

So here’s a photo of that poster that I mentioned previously.

It really does demonstrate the enormity of the festival.. I mean.. Truly HUGE!
I still can’t believe it.

The pink sticky on the right? My tent.
That area at the top left underneath the photo of the yellow flags? The Stone Circle.

God knows how far that is – but I must’ve walked it at least twice a day every day.. Not including walking between stages, getting food & drink, nipping up to camp every now and then..

Just.. Massive!

Oh.. And that diamond shape in the middle?
That’ll be the Pyramid Stage.

Poster courtesy of the Q Glastonbury Review magazine.

Sigh

This is me. At work. Missing Glastonbury. A LOT.

Can you see the big poster on the wall behind me?

That’s Glastonbury.. I’ll have to take a photo of it and upload it. And then? After that?
Whatever will I do with my lovely little ‘Glastonblog’ ?

Keep it going as my very own mobile blog?

Or sign it off into the ether as a piece of festival history?

All suggestions welcome.. 🙂

Just a quick note…

…to say that just because Glastonbury is over – does not mean this blog is coming to an end.

As I’ve mentioned previously – I’ve got plenty of stories and pics from my friends to upload yet. And then, once that’s all done.. I’m SURE I’ll still be uploading content from my mobile as often as possible.

Ideally i’d like to keep a theme of some kind.. I’m not sure I’m a large enough festival-goer to warrant a ‘festival-theme’ per se… So what about a music theme maybe?

I dunno..

All suggestions welcome! …in the meantime, watch this space, more Glasto-blogging to follow..

And.. Just so I’m keeping in tradition.. See below for a late night ‘from a distance’ pic that I took of The Killers just before one of their speakers went down and ruined the whole set… 😦

Fave Photo So Far…

Ok – so you may’ve gathered – I’m home now – I’m still yet to write up Sunday’s events… (that’ll come at some point tomorrow I’m sure) …but I just wanted to post again quickly after having seen some of the photos that my friends sent round over the course of today, (Monday).

This one below is me and one of my closest friends, Al.

No comment needed… it simply says it all.

Morning has broken

And it is raining!
Not heavy rain mind, the annoying ‘thin’ rain that goes right through ya… Definitely Welly weather today! Weeeee… Breakin’ out the waterproofs too.. See below.. My ‘jack in a pack’.

Hmmm… and now time for Breakfast!

Fried egg sandwiches, coffee, a bit of fruit.. Then I think I might go for another wander..
Oh.. And one more thing..

A HUGE shout out to my colleagues over at Refresh Mobile who are avidly following my Glastonblog – bless em – they texted me this morning to tell me they’d ‘mobilized’ my blog!
